City of Henderson Winter Happenings

This Holiday Season will be a busy one for the City of Henderson as they have scheduled several outstanding programs for their residents.

These events include the Third Thursday ARTsWalk held every third Thursday of the month and includes street musicians, food, drink, shopping and relaxation for all.  The dates for this weekend are November 20 and December 18 from 5-9 PM.  From December 4-7, Henderson will host the Fabtech Desert Classic, an off-road desert race for the “Best in the Desert” racing series.  For more information on this event call 877-775-5252.  From December 1 through January 2, there is a Gallery Exhibit featuring the work of Sharon Menary.  This event has free admission and features a collection of beautiful acrylics and mixed media that will portray life’s journey through the eye’s of traveling artists.

The Winter 2008 season of events will be highlighted by WinterFest.  WinterFest will take place from December 11-13.  Admission and parking are free.  Events include; the Henderson Symphony Orchestra presents “Sounds of the Season” on 11th at 7:00 PM, on the 12th at the Henderson Events Plaza there will be a performance by the Henderson International School Chorus, a Tree Lightening Ceremony, an appearance by Santa Claus, Holiday Decorating Awards, Ice Skating, Pony Rides and a Petting Zoo.  WinterFest will wrap up on December 13th at the Henderson Events Plaza with a WinterFest parade, Crafts Fair, a Snow Play area, and performances by Brown Junior High School Choir, Delly’s Young Entertainers & Bootleggers Ten Future Stars, Broadway Bound Divas, Brenda’s School of Dance and the Green Valley Baptist Church Choir.  For more information on WinterFest please contact the City of Henderson at 702-267-2171 or visit www.hendersonlive.com.
