Local Home Sales Break Record in June

Is there a better time to buy then now? When looking at the numbers for the month of June 2009, the answer may possibly be no.
The sales of single-family homes, condos and townhomes are at an all time high of 4,702 in the past month. This beats the previous record of 4,414 all the way back in June 2004. Condo and townhome sales have nearly tripled from just a year ago.
The median prices for single-family homes held steady at $140,000 for June, which may show that the market price is beginning to stabilize. There may not be a better time to buy then now.
Looking at the statistics from the past couple of months we may be looking at a rise in the housing market and the overall economy. With the government possibly raising interest rates in the future, it may be best to act as soon as possible if you are looking to buy a home.
